Researchers at University of North Carolina, Department of Epidemiology release new data on HIV/AIDS co-infection in children

Research findings, "Agreement between clinical scoring systems used for the diagnosis of pediatric tuberculosis in the HIV era," are discussed in a new report. "Diagnosis of childhood tuberculosis (TB) remains a challenge, especially in high human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) prevalence areas. Retrospective study of TB cases registered at a pediatric hospital over a 1-year period in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo," scientists writing in the The International Journal of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease report.
