Study data from University of Sao Paulo provide new insights into leishmaniasis therapy

A report, "Treatment of mucosal leishmaniasis in Latin America: systematic review," is newly published data in The American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. According to recent research from Sao Paulo, Brazil, "Mucosal leishmaniasis (ML) is an important endemic disease and public-health problem in underdeveloped countries because of its significant morbidity and mortality. Increases in ecological tourism have extended this problem to developed countries."
