Penn Libraries to Display Panel of the Nobel Prize Nominated AIDS Memorial Quilt

The Penn Libraries, in partnership with the University of Pennsylvania's Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Center, and other campus agencies, will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, internationally recognized as a symbol of personal and universal grief, remembrance, and healing in response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

From Tuesday, November 27 to Monday, December 3, ten 12' x 12' panels from the 54-ton, handmade tapestry, a memorial to more than 90,000 individuals lost to HIV/AIDS, will be displayed at Penn campus sites, including Van Pelt Library, LGBT Center, Hillel at Steinhardt, Harrison College House, the Dental School, College Hall, Towne...
