Findings from Virginia Commonwealth University advance knowledge in obesity

"Obesity is becoming an epidemic worldwide. Among young women, obesity is especially important because maternal obesity confers an increased risk of preeclampsia, a hypertensive disorder of pregnancy and a leading cause of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality," scientists in the United States report.
