Recent findings from University of Basel highlight research in tuberculosis

"Tuberculosis, caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis, is one of the most deadly infectious diseases across the globe," scientists in Basel, Switzerland report. "The success of M. tuberculosis is related to its capacity to survive and replicate in macrophages, cells of the host innate immune system that are designed to detect and eliminate pathogens [1,2]," wrote V.
