Research from Nagoya University, Medical Department yields new findings on Epstein-Barr virus

According to recent research published in the Journal of Infectious Diseases, "Chronic active Epstein-Barr virus infection (CAEBV) is characterized by recurrent infectious mononucleosis-like symptoms and has high mortality and morbidity. To clarify the mechanisms of CAEBV, the gene-expression profiles of peripheral blood obtained from patients with CAEBV were investigated." "Twenty genes were differentially expressed in 4 patients with CAEBV.
