Scientists at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital discuss research in HIV/AIDS co-infection

"The clinical data and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) 14-3-3-gamma protein detection of eight adult HIV-negative cryptococcal meningitis (CM) cases were examined. The eight cases included six males and two females aged 35-70 years (mean = 49.8 years)," scientists writing in the European Journal of Neurology report. "The duration between the onset of CM symptoms and the first CSF study ranged from 1 to 60 days. Initial neuroimaging study was abnormal in 87.5% (7/8) of the cases.
