New research, 'Functional CD8+ T cell responses in lethal Ebola virus infection,' is the subject of a report. According to recent research from the United States, "Ebola virus (EBOV) causes highly lethal hemorrhagic fever that leads to death in up to 90% of infected humans. Like many other infections, EBOV induces massive lymphocyte apoptosis, which is thought to prevent the development of a functional adaptive immune response."
