Research from Karadeniz Technical University, Department of Internal Medicine has provided new information about hemorrhagic fever risk factors

A report, 'Peripheral blood natural killer cells in Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever,' is newly published data in Journal of Clinical Virology. "The relationship of changes in the peripheral blood lymphocyte subgroups during Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) to prognosis has not been reported. To determine peripheral blood lymphocyte subgroups in CCHF patients at the time of diagnosis and relate these to clinical outcome," scientists in Trabzon, Turkey report. "Peripheral blood samples were obtained from the patients treated at the Karadeniz Technical University Hospital for CCHF in 2004.
