Research from Kasturba Medical College, Department of Microbiology provides new data about tuberculosis therapy

New research, 'Tuberculosis mimicked by melioidosis,' is the subject of a report. According to recent research from Mangalore, India, "In regions endemic for tuberculosis (TB) such as India, presumptive anti-tuberculosis treatment is often prescribed. Melioidosis, caused by Burkholderia pseudomallei, is underdiagnosed in India, due to lack of awareness and a low index of suspicion."
