According to recent research published in the journal Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, "Multidrug-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus continue to increase in frequency worldwide, both in hospitals and in the community, raising serious problems for the chemotherapy of staphylococcal disease.
