Data from Federal University of Minas Gerais provide new insights into pathology

"The parasite load in cervical, mandibular, and parotid lymph nodes and in the skin of the nose and the pinna from dogs infected with Leishmania infantum were investigated by histologic and immunohistochemical studies. Twenty-two infected dogs with and without signs of infection were examined to demonstrate correlation of signs with parasite load and the correlation of facial skin lesions with parasites in regional lymph nodes," scientists in Belo Horizonte, Brazil report.
