Investigators publish new data in the report 'Rapid pathotyping of recent H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza viruses and of H5 viruses with low pathogenicity by RT-PCR and restriction enzyme cleavage pattern (RECP).' According to recent research published in the Journal of Virological Methods, "Rapid and accurate diagnosis of avian influenza virus infections of poultry and humans comprises detection, subtyping, and, in case of subtypes H5 and H7, pathotyping of such viruses.
