Investigators at Kaohsiung Medical University zero in on tuberculosis

According to recent research published in the Journal of Liquid Chromatography & Related Technologies, "A micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC) method with ultraviolet detection at 280nm is described for analysis of ciprofloxacin in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) by direct injection without sample pretreatment." "The proposed method was applied in one tuberculosis meningitis patient monitoring the concentration of ciprofloxacin in CSF after oral administration of 500mg of ciprofloxacin after 12hr. The separation of ciprofloxacin from the CSF matrix was performed at 25C using Tris buffer with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as the background electrolyte," wrote...
