"Vitamin D insufficiency has now reached epidemic proportions and has been linked to low bone mineral density, increased risk of fracture, and obesity in adults. However, this relationship has not been well characterized in young adults," scientists writing in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism report.
