According to a study from Geneva, Switzerland, "Data on socio-economic status, exposure to risk factors for tuberculosis (TB) and previous health-secking for TB may be included in a TB prevalence survey to gain better knowledge about the distribution of TB in the population as well as a better understanding of what factors are driving the TB epidemic in a given setting."
