Research from D.M. Zimmerman and co-authors in the area of tuberculosis published



May 5th, 2009

According to a study from the United States, "Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV)-positive and FIV-negative cats (n = 4/group) received 2 x 10(6) CFU Mycobacterium tuberculosis Delta lysA Delta panCD intramuscularly."

"Vaccination elicited antibody responses, albeit at lower levels in FIV-positive cats than in FIV-negative cats. Delayed-type hypersensitivity responses were minimal in both groups," wrote D.M. Zimmerman and colleagues.

The researchers concluded: "No adverse reactions were found."
