Researchers at Yale University target tuberculosis

According to recent research published in the journal Drugs of the Future, "The tuberculosis (TB) epidemic constitutes a major global health threat. The steady emergence of Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains resistant to current anti-TB drugs, the therapeutic obstacles posited by coinfection with HIV and the cumbersome implementation of current treatment protocols all demand the development of new, fast-acting, effective compounds that shorten and simplify the treatment of TB."
