According to a study from South Korea, "A tuberculosis (TB) referral hospital in South Korea. To evaluate predictors of treatment outcomes and survival among non-human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infected patients with extensively drug-resistant TB (XDR-TB)." "Patients who were diagnosed with XDR-TB at the National Masan Tuberculosis Hospital from January 2001 to December 2005 were included in this study. We conducted a retrospective review of their medical records and mortality data. A total of 176 non-HIV-infected patients with XDR-TB were included. TB-related mortality was 48% (84/1.76), and the median survival time from the diagnosis date of XDR-TB was 51 months...
