According to recent research from the United States, "Diabetes is a major public health problem that is reaching epidemic proportions in the United States and worldwide. Over 22 million Americans currently have diabetes and it is forecast that over 350 million people worldwide will be affected by 2030." "Furthermore, the economic cost of diabetes care is enormous.
