FDA issues approvable letter for ImageChecker CT lung CAD system

R2 Technology, Inc., has received an approvable letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the company's ImageChecker computed tomography (CT) lung CAD system.

R2's ImageChecker CT system is the first CAD system to receive an approval recommendation from a FDA Advisory Panel and an approvable letter for the detection of suspicious lung nodules using CT as an imaging modality.

"CAD will prove a significant advance in the interpretation of CT lung exams," said Professor Philippe Grenier, MD, University of Paris.
