ACR issues statement on United States Pharmacopeia study

The American College of Radiology (ACR) noted that without careful and logical analysis, the incomplete, inaccurate information contained in a recent United States Pharmacopeia (USP) study regarding medication error rates in imaging facilities may unnecessarily alarm patients and may cause many patients who require imaging care to mistakenly avoid getting it.

The USP data were obtained by voluntary reports from radiology departments, hospitals, and other facilities.
