New heart disease study findings recently were published by researchers at University of Heidelberg, Department of Cardiology

New research, "Evidence of left ventricular contractile asynchrony by echocardiographic phase imaging in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and without clinically evident heart disease," is the subject of a report. "Left ventricular electromechanical asynchrony has been shown to predict cardiac events in patients with heart failure. This study investigated whether left ventricular asynchrony is present in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) with no clinically evident heart disease and normal QRS durations," scientists writing in the American Journal of Cardiology report.
