A new study, "Minimally invasive surgery in the diagnosis and treatment of abdominal pain in children," is now available. According to recent research published in the journal Current Opinion In Pediatrics, "Children with abdominal pain sometimes require surgical intervention, and laparoscopy is increasingly the preferred approach for the diagnosis and treatment of both acute and chronic abdominal pain in children. This review describes the current state of the art and recent developments in the application of minimally invasive surgical techniques for the treatment of children with various abdominal pain syndromes."
