"Carbonization of zeolites changes the chemical nature of their surface and their molecular sieve properties. In comparison with other adsorbents (carbons, polymers, etc.), modified and supported zeolites are characterized by better selectivity for separation of light-boiling compounds formed in many catalytic reactions," wrote V.I. Zheivot and colleagues.
