Duane Retraction Syndrome

Researchers at College of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology have published new data on duane retraction syndrome

New investigation results, "Comparison of orbital magnetic resonance imaging in duane syndrome and abducens palsy," are detailed in a study published in American Journal of Ophthalmology. In this recently published article, scientists in Seoul, Korea conducted a study "To help resolve the clinical ambiguity between Duane syndrome with severe abduction deficit and abducens palsy, we performed orbital magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to qualify abnormalities of the lateral rectus (LR) muscle in these entities. Prospective observational case series."
