Bionovo highlights new assay data on menopausal drug

Bionovo, Inc., (BNVI) released new data on the company's lead drug candidate, MF101, for the treatment of vasomotor symptoms, such as hot flashes and night sweats, associated with menopause at the American Society for Mass Spectroscopy 54th Annual Meeting in Seattle.

Bionovo researchers hypothesize that estrogen receptor beta (ERBeta)-selective estrogens may be a safer alternative for women to treat menopausal symptoms, because they do not cause proliferation of breast cancer or uterine cells like estrogens used in current hormone replacement therapy (HRT) regimens.
