Study 1: A new study, "Voriconazole, but not terbinafine, markedly reduces alfentanil clearance and prolongs its half-life," is now available. "Alfentanil is a short-acting synthetic opioid analgesic, which is extensively metabolized, mainly by hepatic cytochrome P450 (CYP) 3A enzymes. Concomitant administration of alfentanil and CYP3A inhibitors may lead to clinically important drug interactions," researchers in Turku, Finland report.
