According to an abstract presented by the authors to the Molecular Mechanisms in Tuberculosis Keystone Symposium, held February 19-25, 1995, in Tamarron, Colorado, "Methods for evaluating the antimicrobial activity of compounds on M. tuberculosis in the intracellular or in vivo environments are extremely arduous involving laborious agar plate colony forming unit (CFU) determinations and long incubations.
