DTH Reliable Marker for Vaccine Responsiveness

The development of delayed type hypersensitivity skin reaction is a reliable marker for the acquisition of active cellular immune responsiveness to hepatitis B antigens in people given hepatitis B vaccination, according to an Italian study.

The study also found that intradermal high dose hepatitis B vaccination is useful in nonresponders to intramuscular vaccine.

This study was presented at the 1995 Annual Meeting of the Infectious Disease Society of America, held September 15-20 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
