"Results of a Clinical Trial of Idiotype Specific Vaccine Therapy for B Cell Lymphoma."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 37th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology, held December 1-5, 1995, in Seattle, Washington, "The idiotypic (Id) determinants of the surface immunoglobulin receptor of B cell lymphoma can serve as a tumor specific antigen. In animals, immune responses (JR) directed against these determinants can confer protection against tumor challenge and can cause regression of pre-existing disease. A clinical trial evaluating an active immunotherapy approach with an idiotype vaccine in patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma was initiated in 1988 (NEJM 1992; 327:1209).
