The Pediatric AIDS Clinical Trials Group (PACTG) is part of the AIDS clinical trials program established by the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
Until recent reorganization of the ACTG effort, the PACTG has generally received high marks from reviewers for organization and achievement.
But the group has been attacked for drawing a disproportionate piece of the limited federal AIDS budget, and for studying therapies beyond the financial reach of developing nations.
