Standard Membrane Feeding Assay May Not Predict In Vivo Findings

In addition, the standard membrane feeding assay may not accurately predict what would be observed in an in vivo setting, indicated O. Doumbo, Mali National School of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bamako, Mali ("Analyses of Parasitological and Entomological Parameters in Banacoumana, Mali, A Potential Site for Testing Malaria Transmission-Blocking Vaccines," American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 1995;53(2):137).

Researchers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Atlanta, Georgia, also participated in the study.
