"Immunogenicity and Reactogenicity of a Combined Hepatitis A/B Candidate Vaccine: First Results."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the European Conference on Tropical Medicine, held October 22-26, 1995, in Hamburg, Germany, "Active, recombinant hepatitis B (HBV) vaccination has been available since 1986, whereas active hepatitis A (HAV) vaccination has been on the market only since 1993. Previous studies investigated safety and immunogenicity of the single vaccines against HAV and HBV infections. A combined hepatitis A/B vaccine would increase the acceptance for vaccination especially in risk groups such as long-term travellers, military personal and medical staff.
