CDC Working to Link Welfare to Vaccination of Children

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is developing guidelines that will link the routine vaccination of children to welfare benefits.

The strategy is intended to improve vaccine coverage for children receiving services from the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).

This linkage of welfare to vaccination was proposed by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Food and Consumer Service (FCS).
