"Therapy of Murine Tumors with p53 Wild Type Sequence Peptide-Based Vaccine."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 87th Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research, held April 20-24, 1996, in Washington, D.C., "As a result of p53 overexpression in tumors, peptides derived from non-mutated portions of the molecule have the potential of being targets for cellular immunotherapy. BALB/cJ mice were immunized with bone marrow-derived dendritic cells (generated with GM-CSF/IL-4), and pulsed with H-2Kd-binding p53 wild type sequence peptide(232-240). This vaccine induced peptide-specific CTL which reacted against 3 of 5 BALB/c sarcomas tested, including CMS4, and rejection of CMS-1 sarcoma in vaccination and therapy (day 7)...
