"A Pilot Study of Genotyping of MSA 1 and 2 During a Trial of SPf66-Vaccine in Tanzania."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 7th Malaria Meeting of the British Society for Parasitology, held September 19-21, 1995, in London, United Kingdom, "Parasites were typed from 290 blood samples collected after the third dose of SPf66 or placebo during the phase III efficacy trial in Tanzania. Samples were derived from clinical episodes from both groups and from cross-sectional surveys of both groups. From all samples DNA was prepared for PCR amplification of the two merozoite surface antigens 1 and 2, part of the former being a component of SPf66.
