T-Cell Response Stimulated from Dinitophenyl-Modified Autologous Melanoma Cells

Treatment with a dinitrophenol (DNP)-modified autologous melanoma vaccine demonstrated a T-cell response to DNP peptides in a human system.

T. Sato et al. designed a study to investigate peptide fractions eluted from a DNP-melanoma vaccine which stimulated specific T lymphocytes and presented the results at the 87th Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research, held April 20-24, 1996, in Washington, DC.

"Immunization with DNP-modified autologous melanoma cells induces T lymphocytes that recognize an MHC-associated DNP-modified peptide," stated Sato et al. "This is the first such demonstration in a human system."
