According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 11th International Conference on AIDS, held July 7-12, 1996, in Vancouver, British Columbia, "Objectives: To design a vaccine against HIV-1 using the promising Virus Like Particles (VLPs) approach based on gag particles, carrying additional B and T cells epitopes, derived from HIV-1 strains isolated in Uganda, a country with high HIV-1 incidence.
