According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 22nd International Congress of the World Federation of Hemophilia, held June 23-28, 1996, in Dublin, Ireland, "We have studied response to HAV vaccine in 106 haemophilia patients (94 had haemophilia A and 12 haemophilia B), median age was 17, range 3-45. 65 patients (61%) were positive for antibody to hepatitis C virus. 29 patients (27%) were infected with HIV, all of them were anti HCV positive. 89 patients (84%) had CD4 cell count >400, 9 had CD4 cell count between 200 and 400, and for 8 it was <200.
