The finding is based on results from the largest-ever clinical trial of a rotavirus vaccine: the rhesus/human reassortant tetravalent RRV-TV vaccine manufactured by Wyeth-Ayerst Research.
"This study is the first to demonstrate that rotavirus vaccine prevents hospitalization in infants and provides strong support for public health value of rotavirus vaccination," reported Timo Vesikari of the University of Tampere, Finland.
