According to the author's abstract of an article published in Journal of Neuroscience Research, "The human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) Tat peptide is taken up by a variety of cells in vitro and in vivo (Anderson et al.: Biochem Biophys Res Commun 194:876-884, 1993; Fawell et al.: Proc Natl Acad Sci USA 91:664-668, 1994; Chen et al.: Anal Biochem 227:168-175, 1995).
