"Development of a Parainfluenza Virus Type 1, 2, 3 Subunit Vaccine."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 15th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Virology, held July 13-17, 1996, in Ontario, Canada, "Parainfluenza (PIV) virus types 1, 2, 3 have been identified as major viral pathogens responsible for severe respiratory tract infections in infants and young children. Previous attempts to produce an efficacious PIV-1, 2, 3 vaccine have been unsuccessful. A trivalent PIV-1, 2, 3 subunit vaccine containing the major immunogenic proteins has been prepared.
