Trial Shows Promising Results in Vaccine Development

North American Vaccine, Beltsville, Maryland, announced that it has completed a Phase I clinical trial for the company's polysaccharide conjugate vaccine against Group C meningococcal infection.

The safety and immunogenicity clinical trial was sponsored by North American Vaccine and was conducted in conjunction with the Institute of Child Health at the University College London Medical School, London, United Kingdom. The results from the adult clinical study revealed that the meningococcal C polysaccharide conjugate vaccine was well-tolerated with minimal reactogenicity and no serious side-effects.
