WHO Executive Board Sets Agenda for World Health Assembly

The 99th session of the World Health Organization's Executive Board closed on January 22, 1997, after having considered all major agenda items for the forthcoming World Health Assembly which has been scheduled to take place in Geneva, Switzerland, May 5-14, 1997.

The main subject under discussion was the proposed program budget for the 1998-1999 biennium. The Board singled out five priority areas:

promotion of primary health care and other related areas;

promotion of environmental health;

eradication of specific communicable diseases;

prevention and control of other communicable diseases;...
