Hepatitis A vaccine was made available through the Vaccines for Children Program for this purpose.
The Centers for Disease Control reported two examples - several Northern Plains Indian reservations and in a Jewish community in New York - of hepatitis A vaccination programs that are currently being implemented in communities with high rates of hepatitis A (MMWR synopsis. July 4, 1997 vol. 46 /no. 26).
