Would a world free of polio - and polio vaccine - provide a tempting target to terrorists'

Columbia University researchers Alan W. Dove and Vincent R. Racaniello suggest that it would. In an editorial focusing on the risks of ending polio vaccination, they noted that poliovirus stocks are distributed among thousands of sites and that the small size and infectious nature of the viral complementary DNA would make it possible for terrorists to create new stocks.
