"T Cell Epitopes on the Circumsporozoite Protein of Plasmodium vivax Recognized by Different Strain of Mice."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the conference Vaccines Beyond 2000, held July 6-9, 1997, in Queensland, Australia, "Immunity to malaria sporozoites is mediated by T cells and antibodies. Both CD4 and CD8 T cells have been shown to play critical roles. We have undertaken a study to define CD4 and CD8 T cell epitopes on the vivax circumsporozoite (CS) protein and to identify factors responsible for immunogenicity. By using 20-mer overlapping peptides representing CS protein of P. vivax we were able to identify CD4 and CD8 T epitope(s) recognized by different strain of mice.
