According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 37th ICAAC, held September 28 - October 1, 1997, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, "Objective: To determine characteristics associated with immunity to varicella in the U.S. and to identify groups that may benefit from enhanced efforts to increase immunization coverage with varicella vaccine. Design: A nationally representative cross-sectional survey and health examination in which sera of participants were screened for antibody to varicella-zoster virus.
