 M. tuberculosis Peptide May Be Vaccine Vehicle

A small peptide from Mycobacterium tuberculosis, labelled inv3, may be a useful tool for the delivery of macromolecules into mammalian cells, according to a report from the University of California at Berkeley.

"This product of a human pathogen may actually provide many reagents beneficial for human health," researcher Lee Riley said in a presentation to the 98th General Meeting of the American Society for Microbiology, held May 17-21, 1998 in Atlanta, Georgia.
